- Old style fudge sauce
- 'very sweet' according to a chocoholic, 'too chocolatey' according to someone who dislikes chocolate. So, perfect!
- 2qt saucepan
1 cup sugar
1 cup heavy cream
1 TB light corn syrup
2 TB butter
4 oz unsweetened (baking) chocolate
1 tsp vanilla extract
Combine sugar, cream, corn syrup, butter, and chocolate in a 2 qt saucepan and cook on HIGH for 4 minutes, stirring continuously. Continue to cook on HIGH for 3-4 minutes, stirring, until sauce is thickened. Remove from heat, add vanilla extract, and stir vigorously with a wire whisk until smooth.- Good Housekeeping cookbook (super old)
