• 3 squares (1 oz each) unsweetened chocolate OR 3/8 c hershey's cocoa
  • 1/3 c water
  • 1 qt (4 cups) milk, heated
  • 3/4 c packed brown sugar
  • 1/8 ts salt
  • 1 peppermint cane or stick for
  • 1 garnish
  • RECIPE HALVED
  • 1 1/2 squares(1 oz each) unsweetened chocolate OR 3/16 c hershey's cocoa
  • 1/3 c water
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3/8 cup packed brown sugar (take 1/2 c measure and fill 3/4 of the way)
  • 1/16 ts salt
Stir chocolate and water in a medium saucepan over low heat until
chocolate has melted (mixture will thicken)., Gradually whisk in
milk, then sugar and salt until evenly blended.

To serve: Reheat in a saucepan over medium-low heat or in microwave,
stirring occasionally. Serve with peppermint-cane stirrer.

KEY: 4OZ = 1/2C
so 3OZ = 3/8C
